The map above shows how Long Island is divided into counties and local governments. Nassau County includes three towns and two independent cities, Glen Cove and Long Beach, while Suffolk County is made up entirely of towns, each containing their own villages and hamlets.

Long Island is comprised of two counties in New York: Nassau and Suffolk – each containing several towns. Within those towns are incorporated villages and unincorporated hamlets.
