Which Beaches Have Fishing?

Fishing is one of the most popular outdoor activities on Long Island. With hundreds of miles of shoreline bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Long Island Sound, and numerous bays and inlets, anglers have access to a wide variety of surf fishing locations throughout the island.

Montauk is internationally recognized as one of the finest surf fishing destinations on the East Coast. Anglers travel there in search of striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, and other migratory species that pass the eastern tip of Long Island each year.

Robert Moses State Park and Jones Beach State Park are also among the island’s best-known surf fishing locations. Their long stretches of Atlantic shoreline, nearby inlets, and seasonal fish migrations make them popular destinations for both experienced anglers and beginners.
