Holiday Lights & Christmas Displays on Long Island
Long Island offers holiday lights and Christmas displays ranging from drive-through shows and illuminated walking trails to decorated historic houses, village celebrations and established residential displays. This guide covers attractions in Nassau County and Suffolk County, with current-season information and clear notes where details remain unconfirmed.
Researched for the 2026 holiday season and last checked November 6, 2026. Confirmation of an event does not mean it operates every night. Some displays run into January 2027, while tree-lighting ceremonies take place on a single date. Check the official calendar before purchasing tickets or traveling.
Explore display locations using the interactive directory above. Read each listing’s season status carefully: an established display with unconfirmed dates should not be treated as an operating attraction. The listings below distinguish drive-through shows, walk-through displays, historic properties, village celebrations and residential displays.

Old Westbury Gardens: Check the Event Name
Christmas at Westbury House is confirmed in the current calendar. A 2026 return of the older Shimmering Solstice outdoor light show has not been verified. Do not assume an old Shimmering Solstice listing describes this year’s program or is included with a house admission ticket.
Planning a Holiday Lights Outing
Compare the pricing unit before booking: drive-through tickets are generally sold per vehicle, while walking displays usually charge per person. Timed entry, selected operating nights, holiday closures and weather changes can affect your plans. Reserve required tickets ahead of time and check the organizer’s announcement on the day of your visit.
Dress for the weather at outdoor displays and check surfaces, walking distances and accessibility arrangements directly with the venue. A free lighting ceremony does not necessarily include free parking, museum admission or special activities. At residential displays, follow the host’s published visiting rules and respect neighboring homes and driveways.
How We Verify the Directory
We prioritize current official attraction pages, organizer ticket calendars and venue or municipal announcements. Where current sources conflict or a timetable has not been verified, the listing identifies the missing details. Prior-season schedules are not automatically carried forward, and an unconfirmed return is not described as a cancellation.
From illuminated park trails and drive-through holiday scenes to decorated historic houses and village celebrations, Long Island offers many ways to enjoy the Christmas season. Use this guide to compare the setting, admission and current operating status of each display, then confirm the latest details with the organizer before heading out.
