North Patchogue is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Brookhaven in central Suffolk County, New York. Located immediately north of the Village of Patchogue, the community is known for its established residential neighborhoods, convenient access to shopping and transportation, and close proximity to one of Long Island’s most active downtown districts. History

The land that became North Patchogue was originally inhabited by Indigenous peoples before European settlers established farming communities throughout Brookhaven during the seventeenth century. As nearby Patchogue developed into an important commercial and maritime center during the nineteenth century, residential neighborhoods gradually expanded northward.

Following World War II, North Patchogue experienced significant suburban growth with the construction of new homes, schools, parks, and businesses. The community developed as a primarily residential area while benefiting from its close relationship with neighboring Patchogue.
