History

The area now known as Bellerose Terrace was originally farmland within the Town of Hempstead before suburban development expanded across western Nassau County during the early twentieth century. The arrival of improved roadways and Long Island Rail Road service encouraged residential growth as families sought communities offering convenient access to New York City.

Following World War II, Bellerose Terrace became a well-established suburban neighborhood with single-family homes, local businesses, schools, and community services.
