UBS Arena – Elmont, Long Island

UBS Arena is a major sports and entertainment venue at Belmont Park in Elmont, on the western edge of Nassau County. Best known as the home of the NHL’s New York Islanders, the arena also hosts some of Long Island’s largest concerts, comedy shows, family entertainment, professional sporting events and other live productions.
Located at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike, UBS Arena opened in November 2021 as the Islanders’ permanent home after years in which the team divided its home schedule among other venues. The arena was designed specifically with hockey and live music in mind and today seats more than 17,000 spectators, although capacity varies depending on the configuration of each event.
The building sits within the historic Belmont Park property near the Nassau County–Queens border. Its architecture deliberately draws from classic New York landmarks, with design influences that include Grand Central Terminal, Ebbets Field, the Park Avenue Armory, Central Park and the Prospect Park Boathouse. Two outdoor terraces are available to arena guests, while the interior combines modern seating and event technology with clubs and gathering spaces styled after traditional New York bars and lounges.
New York Islanders Hockey
UBS Arena is the home rink of the New York Islanders, giving the NHL franchise a purpose-built Long Island home. The Islanders began playing at the arena during the 2021-22 season, with UBS Arena opening on November 20, 2021.
For Islanders games, the building places spectators relatively close to the ice and was constructed specifically around the needs of professional hockey. The venue is also used for preseason games and other hockey-related events throughout the year.
Concerts and Live Entertainment
UBS Arena has quickly become one of Long Island’s principal concert venues, providing a large indoor alternative to outdoor venues such as Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater.
Since opening, the arena has hosted major touring performers spanning pop, rock, hip-hop, Latin music, country and comedy. Artists who have appeared at the venue have included Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, John Mayer and the Eagles, among many others.
Unlike an outdoor amphitheater, UBS Arena operates throughout the year, making it one of the region’s most important destinations for major indoor concerts during the fall and winter as well as the traditional summer touring season.
Food and Dining
Food and beverage choices are located throughout the arena’s concourses, with a mix of traditional event concessions and more specialized dining areas.
One of the venue’s notable gathering places is Belmont Hall, a sports bar and restaurant accessible directly from outside the arena. It serves beer-hall-style food, New York State beers and menu items associated with The Harrison restaurant in nearby Floral Park. An arena event ticket is not required to enter Belmont Hall, although its operating schedule is generally tied to event days.
Visitors can also find dining areas on multiple concourse levels as well as premium clubs and hospitality spaces.
Getting to UBS Arena
UBS Arena is located at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY 11003, immediately adjacent to Belmont Park. Its western Nassau County location makes the venue accessible from both Long Island and New York City.
Drivers can reach the arena from Hempstead Turnpike and the surrounding highway network. Several parking areas are used depending on the event, including the Belmont Park Garage and other designated arena lots. Parking arrangements and lot availability can change from event to event, so visitors driving to the arena should check their specific event information before arriving.
Public transportation is particularly convenient because the Long Island Rail Road operates the Elmont-UBS Arena station next to the Belmont Park complex. The station was the first completely new LIRR station opened in nearly 50 years and began service in conjunction with the arena’s 2021 opening.
The station provides an important option for people attending events from New York City and communities throughout Long Island without driving to the arena.
Parking and Accessibility
UBS Arena provides accessible parking spaces and ADA transportation services from designated parking areas. Accessible spaces are available in the Belmont Park Garage and other arena lots, with ADA-accessible shuttle service provided from certain more distant parking areas.
Because parking locations, entrances and traffic patterns can vary with the size and type of event, guests should review the arena’s current parking map and event instructions before leaving home.
Visiting UBS Arena
Visitors should check the official UBS Arena website before attending an event for the latest information regarding tickets, starting times, permitted bags, parking, entrances and venue policies. Event configurations differ substantially between Islanders games, concerts and other productions.
The arena is cashless for purchases inside the building, with digital and contactless payment systems used throughout its concession operations.
Guests planning an evening at the arena can also explore nearby Elmont and Floral Park, while the broader Belmont Park complex has increasingly developed into an entertainment destination of its own.
