Brentwood State Park

Brentwood State Park is a 52-acre state park in Brentwood, Suffolk County, that serves as one of Long Island’s premier soccer complexes. Located along Crooked Hill Road, the park features numerous athletic fields that host local leagues, tournaments, youth sports, and recreational activities throughout much of the year. While considerably smaller than many of Long Island’s larger state parks, Brentwood State Park plays an important role in the region’s outdoor recreation infrastructure.

History

Brentwood State Park was established to provide organized athletic facilities for the growing population of central Suffolk County. Rather than preserving a large natural landscape, the park was developed to meet the increasing demand for outdoor sports fields and community recreation. Today it continues to host leagues and tournaments that bring together athletes from across Long Island.

Recreation

Although soccer is the primary attraction, visitors also use the park for walking, informal exercise, photography, and enjoying open green space while attending community sporting events.
