BALDWIN, NY – A Baldwin man was arrested Sunday evening following a domestic disturbance that escalated into an altercation with police, resulting in injuries to two officers, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 5:36 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at a residence on Newton Avenue in Baldwin. Officers responding to a disturbance call learned that the defendant, Harry H. Williams Jr., 64, had been involved in a verbal argument with a 64-year-old female victim. Detectives reported that the dispute escalated, with Williams allegedly pushing and slapping the victim.
Authorities said the victim called 911 out of fear for her safety, after which Williams left the scene in his vehicle. During the investigation, police said Williams returned to the residence and became increasingly agitated, yelling and screaming at responding officers. Detectives determined that Williams was intoxicated at the time.

Williams was charged with two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Driving While Intoxicated, Harassment in the Second Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.
