
UNIONDALE, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man has been arrested following a violent altercation at Uniondale Park on Saturday afternoon that left another man injured, Nassau County police said.
According to detectives, the incident unfolded around 12:45 p.m. on September 6 when Ronaldo Tomlinson, described by authorities as undomiciled, approached a 31-year-old man in the park at 710 Uniondale Avenue. An argument quickly escalated, leading Tomlinson to punch the victim in the face.
As the confrontation continued, police say Tomlinson pulled out a small box cutter. The victim sustained two puncture wounds to his back and a slash near his right ear before managing to leave the park. Tomlinson allegedly followed him while still armed.
Responding officers arrived a short time later and located both men in front of 560 Uniondale Avenue. Tomlinson was taken into custody without further incident and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The victim was also hospitalized for treatment of his injuries.
Tomlinson has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday, September 7, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead.
