Lil Wayne Bringing ‘20 Years of Carter Classics’ Tour to Jones Beach with 2 Chainz in September

WANTAGH, NY – Hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne is bringing more than two decades of music from his celebrated Tha Carter album series to Long Island this September, with 2 Chainz joining him as a special guest at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh.
The 20 Years of Carter Classics tour is scheduled to stop at the waterfront amphitheater on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, giving Long Island fans a chance to hear songs spanning one of the most influential catalogs in modern hip-hop. The Jones Beach performance had previously been scheduled for September 10 before being moved to the new September 16 date.
The tour celebrates more than 20 years since Lil Wayne released Tha Carter in 2004, the album that launched a series that would become central to his career. The original record was followed by Tha Carter II in 2005 and the enormously successful Tha Carter III in 2008, which won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and included some of Wayne’s biggest commercial hits.
Over the years, the series continued with Tha Carter IV in 2011 and the long-awaited Tha Carter V in 2018. Together, the albums trace Lil Wayne’s evolution from a young New Orleans rapper into one of hip-hop’s most recognizable and influential performers.
Fans at Jones Beach can expect the show to draw heavily from that catalog, with songs such as “Lollipop,” “A Milli,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Mr. Carter,” “Fireman” and “Hustler Musik” among the classics associated with the Carter era. The anniversary format also gives Wayne an extensive catalog to choose from beyond the biggest radio hits, including fan favorites that stretch back to the earliest installments of the series.
Joining Lil Wayne at Jones Beach will be 2 Chainz, who has built a successful solo career with hits including “No Lie,” “Birthday Song,” “I’m Different” and “It’s a Vibe.” His appearance is particularly fitting because the two rappers have collaborated extensively over the years.
Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz released the collaborative album ColleGrove in 2016, followed by Welcome 2 Collegrove in 2023. Their history together has produced songs including “Gotta Lotta,” “Presha” and “Long Story Short,” creating the possibility that the Jones Beach audience will see the two artists share the stage during portions of the show.
The extended 20 Years of Carter Classics tour follows Lil Wayne’s ongoing celebration of the Tha Carter series and includes stops across the United States during 2026. The tour offers longtime fans a retrospective of music that stretches from the early 2000s through Wayne’s later releases while introducing a new generation of concertgoers to songs that helped define his career.
Northwell at Jones Beach Theater, located inside Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, remains one of Long Island’s largest outdoor concert venues and hosts major touring artists throughout the summer season.
Lil Wayne with 2 Chainz is scheduled to perform at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Concertgoers who purchased tickets for the previously scheduled September 10 performance should check their original ticket provider for information regarding the rescheduled date.
