Poquott is an incorporated village on the North Shore of Long Island within the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York. History

The area now known as Poquott was originally inhabited by Native American peoples before European settlement expanded across Long Island’s North Shore during the seventeenth century. As development increased during the early twentieth century, local residents sought greater control over community planning and municipal services.

Poquott was officially incorporated as a village in 1931.
