
FARMINGDALE, NY – Nassau County police arrested a Bay Shore man following an assault that left a woman hospitalized Sunday evening in Farmingdale, according to a department press release.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, on Main Street near South Front Street, police said. Officers from the Eighth Squad responded to a reported disturbance in the area.
According to detectives, a male suspect attacked a 45-year-old female victim, punching her and stabbing her in the chest and shoulder with an unknown object before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition, police said.
Following a thorough investigation, officers located the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest without further incident.
Police identified the defendant as Todd McGee, 49, of 5 Dewey Place, Bay Shore.
McGee has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Aggravated Criminal Contempt, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, February 2, 2026, at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street in Hempstead, police said.
