OAKDALE, NY – Long Island theater audiences will have the opportunity to experience one of Broadway’s most celebrated comedy musicals when Monty Python’s Spamalot runs on the main stage at CM Performing Arts Center from February 14 through March 1, 2026.

Sponsored by Advance Sound Company and Stony Brook Medicine, with additional sponsorship from La Supreme Pizza, the production brings a proven Broadway favorite to Suffolk County during the heart of the winter theater season.

A Tony-Winning Broadway Favorite

Originally premiering on Broadway in 2005, Spamalot quickly became a major commercial and critical success. The show earned three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and ran for more than 1,500 performances. Its enduring popularity has led to national tours, international productions, and multiple revivals, cementing its status as one of the most successful comedy adaptations in modern musical theater.

Written by Eric Idle, with music by Idle and John Du Prez, the musical is based on the cult-classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It reimagines King Arthur’s legendary quest through the signature absurdist lens of Monty Python, complete with dancing knights, the infamous killer rabbit, and relentless satire of Broadway traditions.

Who Should See Spamalot

This production appeals to a wide range of audiences, including:

  • Longtime fans of Monty Python’s film and sketch comedy
  • Broadway and musical theater audiences looking for a comedy-forward show
  • College students and younger audiences drawn to satire and irreverent humor
  • Corporate outings, school trips, and large group bookings
  • Anyone seeking a high-energy, laugh-driven night at the theater

Rated PG-13, the show balances slapstick humor and witty wordplay, making it accessible to teens and adults alike.

A Regional Draw for Long Island

Located in Oakdale, the CM Performing Arts Center is a key cultural venue for Suffolk County and regularly attracts audiences from across Long Island as well as New York City. Productions like Spamalot highlight the venue’s ability to host Broadway-caliber performances locally, reducing the need for theatergoers to travel into Manhattan while still experiencing nationally recognized shows.

The late-winter run also positions Spamalot as one of the more prominent entertainment options on Long Island during February, a period when high-profile touring productions are less common.
