BABYLON, NY – The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC) was among three Long Island–based breast cancer organizations to receive grant funding from the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club, following the club’s annual fundraising efforts in support of women affected by breast and gynecological cancers.

The Peconic River Sportsman’s Club, located in Manorville, recently hosted a luncheon where representatives from BBCC, Lucia’s Angels, and the North Fork Breast Health Coalition were presented with donation checks. The event marked another successful year for the club’s signature fundraiser, “Take a Shot at Cancer,” which has become a cornerstone of its charitable outreach.

According to the organization, this year’s fundraising campaign generated more than $68,000 for local breast cancer charities. Over the past eleven years, the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club has raised more than $400,000 through the annual event, providing critical financial support to nonprofits that assist individuals and families navigating cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

In addition to monetary donations, the club also hosts special shooting events designed exclusively for women currently undergoing treatment for breast or gynecological cancers. These events offer participants an opportunity to step away from medical appointments and daily stress, providing a supportive and uplifting environment focused on camaraderie, recreation, and emotional well-being.

The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition uses donated funds to support a wide range of programs, including educational outreach, support services, and financial assistance for local residents impacted by breast cancer. Contributions from community organizations such as the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club play a vital role in sustaining these efforts and expanding access to resources across the region.
