BALDWIN, N.Y. – On Friday, the Nassau County Police First Squad reported the arrest of a Baldwin man following an armed robbery late Thursday night. According to detectives, officers responded at approximately 11:02 p.m. on November 20, 2025, to a reported robbery at the Sunoco Gas Station, located at 1738 Grand Avenue in Baldwin. Police determined that a male entered the store, displayed a knife, and demanded cash before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
Following a thorough investigation, officers located the suspect near the gas station. When approached by police, the man allegedly violently resisted arrest. Officers were ultimately able to take Austin Dupuy, 27, of 373 Stowe Avenue, Baldwin, into custody. Three knives were recovered during the arrest.
Further investigation connected Dupuy to two additional crimes:
An attempted robbery on November 7, 2025, at Qwik Pic Convenience Store, 2169 Grand Avenue, Baldwin and a grand larceny reported on November 10, 2025, in Rockville Centre.
Dupuy is charged with:
- Robbery 1st Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree (3 counts)
- Grand Larceny 2nd Degree
- Resisting Arrest
He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, November 21, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead.
