NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. – Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Eighth Squad have announced the arrest of a 52-year-old man accused of committing a series of break-ins at small businesses throughout the county during October 2025.

Investigators say Joseph Borrello, who has no known permanent address, is believed to have targeted multiple stores and restaurants by smashing glass doors or windows to gain entry before stealing cash or merchandise. The incidents stretched across several communities including Valley Stream, Hempstead, Oceanside, Massapequa, Manhasset, Levittown, and Jericho.

Following an extensive investigation that linked the pattern of burglaries through evidence and surveillance, detectives located Borrello and took him into custody without incident on Thursday, October 30, 2025, shortly before noon. No injuries were reported in connection with the arrest.
