UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 2026: Brian Woehr, a former Lindenhurst School District custodian who was indicted in 2025 on more than 100 charges involving the sexual abuse of a child, has pleaded guilty to two felony charges and is expected to receive a 17-year prison sentence.

LINDENHURST, NY – Brian Woehr, 41, pleaded guilty on September 25, 2026, to two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance as a Sexually Motivated Felony, both Class C felonies, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Woehr entered the guilty plea before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis and was ordered to register as a sex offender. He is expected to be sentenced to 17 years in prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision. His sentencing is scheduled for November 6, 2026.

The guilty plea marks a major development in a case that began in April 2025 and led to Woehr’s indictment the following month on 113 charges.

According to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, the Suffolk County Police Department Digital Forensics Unit received a tip on April 30, 2025, from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning child sexual abuse material that had been uploaded to a Google account.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Woehr’s Lindenhurst home that same day and seized his mobile phone. Prosecutors said a forensic analysis of the device revealed videos and images that had been produced and shared by Woehr, including material depicting his sexual abuse of a prepubescent child.

Woehr was arrested at the scene.

In May 2025, Woehr, then 40, was arraigned on a 113-count indictment. The charges included two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance as a Sexually Motivated Felony, two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, 54 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, 52 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

At the time of his arraignment, Woehr pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $1.5 million cash bail, $5 million bond, or a $15 million partially secured bond. His September 2026 guilty plea changes the status of the case, with Woehr admitting guilt to two of the felony counts contained in the original indictment.

“The admitted actions of this defendant are deplorable,” Tierney said following the guilty plea. “Children deserve protection and trust from the adults around them, and Brian Woehr violated both in an unconscionable way. He has now pleaded guilty, and my office will ensure he is held accountable.”

Woehr previously worked as a custodian for the Lindenhurst School District. Following his arrest in 2025, the district said he had worked as a part-time custodian from 2018 until 2021 and had been dismissed years before the criminal investigation for reasons unrelated to the case.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Melissa Grier of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau. The investigation was conducted by Detective Joseph Gonzalez of the Suffolk County Police Department Digital Forensics Unit.

Woehr is scheduled to return to court on November 6, 2026, when he is expected to be sentenced to 17 years in prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision.
