HOLBROOK, NY – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney recently announced that former Suffolk County Police Officer George Trimigliozzi, 56, of Islip, New York, has been sentenced to two years in jail after admitting he helped manage a brothel that operated as part of a long-running criminal enterprise in Suffolk County.
Trimigliozzi pleaded guilty in September to Promoting Prostitution and Official Misconduct, acknowledging that while still employed as an SCPD officer, he worked as a co-manager of one of the operation’s commercial locations.
It is particularly egregious when a sworn police officer abandons his duty to participate in criminal activity,” District Attorney Tierney said. “George Trimigliozzi violated public trust when he chose to manage a brothel instead of upholding the law. This prosecution dismantled a years-long criminal enterprise, and I commend my Public Corruption Bureau for holding the defendant responsible.”
According to court filings and Trimigliozzi’s own admissions, the prostitution ring operated between October 2019 and March 2021, led by Frank Saggio, 61, of West Islip. The enterprise utilized commercial spaces in Holbrook and West Babylon and allegedly profited through systematic promotion of prostitution.
The Holbrook hub, located at 6089 Sunrise Highway, operated under multiple business fronts, including:
• Suite 3 – American Girls Spa
• Suite 4 – Spa
• Suite 5 – Reiki for Healing
A second location in West Babylon was run under the name Tunnel of Love.
Trimigliozzi served as co-manager of the Suite 3 Holbrook location alongside Steven Arey, a 26-year employee of the Islip School District. Prosecutors say the former officer crossed a clear professional boundary on March 19, 2021, when he abandoned his assigned patrol post to respond to a robbery at the brothel, driving nearly 90 mph in his marked police vehicle despite having no authorization to leave his district.
During his plea, Saggio admitted overseeing the prostitution organization from October 2019 through June 2024, employing his co-defendants as managers and collecting substantial monthly fees from sex workers, approximately $6,000 at the Holbrook location and $12,000 at the West Babylon site.
Saggio’s girlfriend, Dana Ciardullo, 33, of North Bellmore, managed the West Babylon operation.
Multiple Defendants Enter Guilty Pleas
On September 12, 2025, Saggio, Trimigliozzi, and Ciardullo pleaded guilty before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei.
Trimigliozzi’s plea covered two separate indictments:
- Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree (Class D felony)
- Official Misconduct (Class A misdemeanor)
In a second case, he also pleaded guilty to Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree (Class A misdemeanor), stemming from an incident in which he unlawfully restrained a woman in his vehicle after a date in Patchogue.
Trimigliozzi has since been terminated by the Suffolk County Police Department.
Status of Co-Defendants
- Frank Saggio pleaded guilty to Enterprise Corruption, a Class B felony, and agreed to $1,875,000 in forfeiture as part of his plea agreement. His sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
- Dana Ciardullo pleaded guilty to Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree and is set to be sentenced on December 18, 2025.
- Steven Arey has been indicted on Enterprise Corruption and 27 counts of Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree. His case remains pending.
Trimigliozzi was sentenced on December 1, 2025, and immediately remanded to begin serving his two-year jail term.
