
(NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Police Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Long Beach man in connection with an alleged incident involving a juvenile student that occurred on December 23, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Lido Beach.
According to detectives, John Anfossi, 54, of Long Beach, allegedly engaged in sexually inappropriate physical contact with a juvenile female student during a wrestling practice at Lido Elementary School, located at 237 Lido Boulevard. At the time of the incident, Anfossi was employed as an assistant wrestling coach at the school.
Following an investigation, Anfossi was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Anfossi was arraigned on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
