OCEANSIDE, NY – Three individuals were arrested Sunday afternoon in Hewlett after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected narcotics and later tied two of the suspects to a retail theft in Oceanside, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Detectives assigned to the department’s Fourth Squad said Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) officers were on routine patrol at approximately 3:31 p.m. on January 18, 2026, when they observed a 2017 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Peninsula Boulevard and changing lanes unsafely. Officers initiated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.

Police identified the driver as Louis Wilson, 28, of Oyster Bay. Authorities said Wilson was found in possession of substances believed to be crack cocaine and heroin. The passengers, Hasheem D. Foster, 36, and Ana Bonilla, 33, both of Hempstead, were also allegedly found to be in possession of similar substances. Police said Bonilla initially provided officers with false identifying information.

All three were taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent investigation linked Wilson and Bonilla to a larceny earlier that day at Ulta Beauty located on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, police said.

Wilson and Foster are scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead. Bonilla was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court in February.
