MASSAPEQUA, NY – The Nassau County Police Department’s Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Massapequa man in connection with a series of larcenies involving unauthorized credit card use across Nassau County.

The arrest occurred on Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 12:07 p.m., following an extensive investigation conducted by Electronic Squad (ELS) and Fraud and Forgery Section detectives.

According to investigators, the defendant allegedly made multiple unauthorized credit card transactions between April 21, 2025, and September 2, 2025, resulting in losses totaling approximately $108,000. A report regarding the fraudulent charges was filed on October 23, 2025, prompting a detailed financial investigation.

Following the investigation, detectives identified Anastassios Poukamisas, 30, of 240 North Virginia Avenue, Massapequa, as the individual responsible for the unauthorized transactions. Poukamisas was located and placed under arrest without incident.

Poukamisas is charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned today, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.

The investigation remains ongoing.
