SYOSSET, NY – The Nassau County Second Squad today reported the arrest of a Syosset man following an incident that occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., in Syosset.
According to detectives, officers responded to an auto accident on the South Service Road of the Long Island Expressway, in the vicinity of Exit 43. Upon arrival, officers observed the defendant, Kevin Byong Koon Yim, 45, of 32 Walters Avenue, seated inside a 2024 Chevrolet.
An investigation at the scene led to the recovery of a Sig Sauer firearm and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The defendant was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Kevin Byong Koon Yim is charged with:
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
