NEW YORK, NY – The world of television sparkled in Manhattan on November 24 as stars, creators, and media executives from across the globe gathered for the 53rd International Emmy® Awards. I had the pleasure of walking the red carpet, meeting nominees and presenters, and speaking with some of the evening’s most celebrated international talent.

The Gala, held in New York City and hosted by Live with Kelly and Mark co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, brought together honorees from nine countries, celebrating a year of standout storytelling across drama, documentary, current affairs, comedy, kids’ programming, and more.

This year’s event also paid tribute to two influential industry figures. Dana Walden, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, received the Founders Emmy® for her decades of shaping landmark series such as Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland, and This Is Us. The Directors Award went to João Roberto Marinho, Chairman and President of Grupo Globo, recognized for his leadership and commitment to independent journalism.

Throughout the evening, stars made their way down the carpet eager to celebrate the achievements of international television. I spoke with actors, producers, and creators about their craft, the global expansion of storytelling, and how the Emmy recognition is transforming their careers. Many reflected on how television has become an ever-stronger cultural bridge – an idea echoed by International Academy President & CEO Bruce L. Paisner, who highlighted the unifying power of the medium in a year marked by global uncertainty.
