HOLBROOK, N.Y. – A Suffolk County grand jury has indicted a Holbrook couple accused of running a large-scale narcotics operation out of their home, where police say they seized cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, firearms, and cash valued at roughly $2 million.
Caleb Moran, 28, and Jessica Medina-Rivas, 28, were arrested following a series of undercover drug purchases that culminated in a raid on their residence in August. Both now face major trafficking and related charges.
Undercover Buys and Investigation
Investigators say the case began in July when Medina-Rivas allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover Suffolk County detective. Additional deals in mid-July and late July reportedly linked Moran to the operation, with the couple arriving in a Ford Explorer once used by the Southampton Town Police Department. Authorities believe they used the former police vehicle in an attempt to conceal their activity.
On August 8, prosecutors allege the pair sold over three and a half ounces of cocaine to the undercover officer and provided a free sample of fentanyl, warning it was “strong.” Later that month, another sale allegedly involved more than three ounces of cocaine and a separate package of fentanyl. Moran is accused of instructing the officer to dilute the fentanyl, citing prior overdoses connected to the substance.
Search Warrant and Seizure
A search warrant executed on August 22 at the couple’s Holbrook residence turned up a large quantity of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Authorities reported seizing:
- 14 kilograms of cocaine
- 12 kilograms of methamphetamine
- More than 3 ounces of fentanyl
- Pills containing methamphetamine and MDMA
- Two unregistered firearms, ammunition, and two bulletproof vests
- Cutting agents, pill press, blenders, digital scales, packaging materials, and a vacuum sealer
- Approximately $118,000 in cash
Court Proceedings
On September 22, both defendants were arraigned before Supreme Court Justice John B. Collins.
Moran was charged with:
- Operating as a Major Trafficker (A felony)
- Multiple counts of Criminal Sale and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Firearm possession charges
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia
Bail was set at $2 million cash, $8 million bond, or $20 million partially secured bond. Moran is represented by attorney Raymond Perini, Esq., with his next court date scheduled for October 28, 2025.
Medina-Rivas faces an overlapping but broader indictment including:
- Operating as a Major Trafficker (A felony)
- Several counts of Criminal Sale and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Firearm possession charges
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia
Her bail was set at $2 million cash, $4 million bond, or $20 million partially secured bond. She is represented by George Duncan, Esq., and is due back in court on October 27, 2025.
Prosecution
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Tess Andrew of the Narcotics Bureau. Detective John McGlynn of the Suffolk County Police Narcotics Unit led the investigation with support from the FBI.

Q&A – Holbrook Drug Trafficking Case
Q: What penalties could the defendants face if convicted?
A: Operating as a Major Trafficker, the top charge against both defendants, is a Class A felony that carries a potential sentence of 15 years to life in prison under New York State law. Additional felony charges related to drug sales, possession, and firearms could add decades more to any sentence.
Q: Why was a police vehicle involved in the investigation?
A: Moran purchased a 2017 Ford Explorer previously used by the Southampton Town Police Department at a surplus auction. Although official decals were removed, the SUV still resembled an unmarked police vehicle. Prosecutors allege Moran used the car to mask illegal activity and avoid suspicion.
Q: How significant was the drug seizure?
A: Authorities estimate the narcotics recovered – cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and pills – had a street value of about $2 million. Investigators described it as one of the largest seizures in Suffolk County in recent years.
Q: Were firearms involved in the case?
A: During the raid, officers reportedly found two unregistered operable firearms, ammunition, and two bulletproof vests. These items led to separate felony weapons charges.
Q: Who is prosecuting the case?
A: The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, through Assistant District Attorney Tess Andrew of the Narcotics Bureau, is handling the prosecution. The investigation was led by Suffolk County Police with support from the FBI.
Q: When are the next court dates?
A: Jessica Medina-Rivas is scheduled to appear in court on October 27, 2025. Caleb Moran is due the following day, October 28, 2025.
