
FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY – The Fifth Squad is investigating a robbery that occurred on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m. at a 7-Eleven convenience store located at 552 Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square.
According to detectives, a light-skinned male, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build, entered the store and went to the refrigerated area containing alcoholic beverages. Two employees observed the suspect conceal three cans of White Claw in his pockets. When the suspect approached the exit, a female employee told him she was calling 911. The suspect forcibly grabbed the phone from her hand, and a physical altercation followed. A male employee attempted to intervene to assist his coworker.
Police said the suspect forced his way out of the store, with the struggle continuing briefly in the parking lot before he fled northbound on Franklin Avenue on foot. The male employee was treated at the scene by a Nassau County Police Department ambulance. No additional injuries were reported.
