ELMONT, NY – Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of an Elmont man in connection with a homicide that occurred on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at approximately 1:08 p.m., in Elmont.

According to detectives, officers responded to Travis Avenue for an incident involving a stabbing victim. Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old male inside the residence who had suffered multiple stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Witnesses at the scene identified Desean Harrison, 23, of Travis Avenue, as the individual responsible. Harrison was taken into custody without incident.

Harrison is charged with Murder in the Second Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, December 29, 2025, at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.

The victim was later identified as Jasson Phillips, 33, of Elmont.

The investigation remains ongoing.
