Investigators say the burglaries occurred within a short time span early Friday morning and involved multiple suspects traveling together. Police recovered stolen property following the arrests, authorities said.

ROCKVILLE CENTER, NY – The Nassau County Police Department’s First Squad reports the arrest of four male suspects in connection with a series of overnight burglaries that occurred early Friday morning, December 12, 2025, in Oceanside and Rockville Centre.

According to detectives, two smoke and vape shops were targeted within a short time frame. Investigators say four male subjects forcibly entered Tobacco Town and Vape Shop, located at 3395 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, at approximately 12:34 a.m. The same group is alleged to have later broken into Rockville Centre Smoke and Vape, located at 11 North Village Avenue in Rockville Centre, at approximately 1:18 a.m.

Following a coordinated investigation by First Squad detectives, with assistance from the Fourth Squad, the Bureau of Special Operations, the Electronics Squad, and the Hempstead Police Department, authorities identified the vehicle believed to have been used during the incidents – a white 2016 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was subsequently located on Ormand Street in Hempstead.

Police arrested Michael Cooper, 30, of 75 Arkansas Drive, North Valley Stream, Jaison Burton, 20, of 95 Wellesley Street, Hempstead, along with two male juveniles, ages 17 and 16, without incident. Detectives report that property stolen from the Rockville Centre Smoke and Vape shop was recovered from the vehicle.

All four defendants are charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Attempted Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. Cooper and Burton were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, December 13, 2025, at First District Court. The two juvenile defendants were scheduled to be arraigned the same day at the County District Court Youth Center.
