EAST GARDEN CITY, NY – The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad reports the arrest of two women following an incident at the Roosevelt Field Mall that left an officer injured and uncovered stolen property. The events unfolded on Friday, September 19, 2025, at approximately 6:26 p.m. inside the mall’s parking garage at 630 Old Country Road, East Garden City.

According to detectives, an on-duty officer was patrolling the garage when his marked vehicle was struck by a white Honda Accord that was backing out of a parking space. The driver, later identified as Shaquanna Gibbs, 26, of Roosevelt, allegedly attempted to leave the scene. When the officer exited his vehicle and approached, Gibbs accelerated, striking the officer’s arm with her car before fleeing.
