ISLAND PARK, NY – One of Long Island’s most beloved cultural celebrations is back this month as the Island Park Greek Festival returns to the Panaghia Greek Orthodox Church for four days of Mediterranean-inspired fun, flavor, and tradition. Running from Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24, the festival invites the community to experience the rich culture of Greece through live music, homemade cuisine, traditional dancing, and family-friendly entertainment.

Now a staple of the late-summer season on the South Shore, the Island Park Greek Festival offers something for everyone. Guests can stroll through the bustling outdoor fairgrounds while enjoying classic Greek dishes like gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, and the ever-popular loukoumades – golden dough puffs soaked in honey and cinnamon. Wine and beer will be available, adding to the festive, open-air village atmosphere.

On stage, live music performances are scheduled throughout the weekend, creating the perfect soundtrack for an evening under the stars. Festival-goers will also be treated to traditional Greek dancing, offering both entertainment and a vibrant expression of the community’s heritage.

Beyond food and music, families will find plenty to enjoy – from carnival-style rides and games to raffles and local vendors. Admission is free, and shuttle parking is available from the nearby Ace Hardware on Austin Boulevard, making access to the festival simple and convenient.

Hosted by the Panaghia Greek Orthodox Church at 83 Newport Road in Island Park, the event serves as both a fundraiser for the parish and an open invitation for Long Islanders of all backgrounds to join in the celebration.

Whether you’re returning for your favorite flavors or experiencing the joy of a Greek festival for the first time, this four-day event promises festive fun with a side of filoxenia – the famed Greek hospitality that welcomes everyone like family.
