HOLBROOK, NY — A 35-year-old Holbrook man is facing serious drug charges following an investigation that authorities say uncovered a narcotics distribution ring operating out of Suffolk County.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Dontel Wills has been arrested and charged in connection with what investigators described as a drug distribution operation involving the sale of crack cocaine and other controlled substances. Officials allege Wills coordinated the movement and packaging of narcotics from multiple locations, contributing to the local drug supply.
Search warrants executed as part of the case reportedly turned up drugs, packaging materials, and other paraphernalia associated with narcotics trafficking. Wills is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk County Court.
Publicly available incarceration records from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision show that a man named Dontel J. Wills, born in June 1990, was previously convicted in Suffolk County for criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree. That individual was sentenced to a prison term of two to four years and was released under supervision shortly after, likely due to completing a drug treatment program at Willard Drug Treatment Campus, which can lead to early parole release before the standard parole eligibility dates.
While the state inmate’s name, age, and county of conviction match the details provided in this case, it has not yet been officially confirmed whether the individual arrested this week is the same Dontel J. Wills referenced in the DOCCS database
The District Attorney’s Office has not released additional information about whether Wills was under supervision at the time of his arrest or if prior convictions factored into the investigation. No other suspects have been named at this time.
Authorities say the case is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt narcotics trafficking networks that fuel addiction and crime across Suffolk County.
