UNIONDALE, NY – Two men were arrested Tuesday night following a traffic stop in Uniondale that led to the recovery of a loaded firearm and suspected narcotics, Nassau County Police said.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on July 29, members of the department’s Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) observed a 2017 Chevrolet SUV committing a traffic violation while traveling southbound on Nassau Road near Stanton Boulevard. Officers conducted a stop near Teresa Place in neighboring Hempstead.
During the investigation, police discovered a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun and a substance believed to be crack cocaine inside the vehicle. Both occupants were taken into custody without incident.

One of the suspects, 51-year-old Lee Hughes of Huntington Station, is facing multiple charges including second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation, and various traffic violations.
The second individual, identified as 38-year-old Richard Foreman of North Carolina, is charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon as well as criminal possession of a firearm.
Although the firearm recovered during the arrest may appear distinctive with its colored frame and attached laser sight, it is actually a relatively common handgun. The weapon is a Taurus G2C 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a widely distributed model known for its affordability and ease of concealment. Produced by Taurus, a Brazilian firearms manufacturer, the G2C is marketed primarily for personal defense and often sells for under $300. Its compact size and low cost have contributed to its frequent appearance in both legal gun ownership and cases involving illegal possession. In this incident, the pistol was loaded and accompanied by multiple high-capacity magazines, underscoring the potential danger had it not been intercepted.
Both men were scheduled to be arraigned today, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead.
