EAST HAMPTON, NY – A Brooklyn man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking cocaine from Brooklyn to Suffolk County, including East Hampton and Montauk, during the busy summer season.
Michael Khodorkovskiy, 45, was sentenced in Suffolk County Supreme Court on May 29 to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision. The sentence follows his guilty plea in April to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class A-II felony.
According to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, Khodorkovskiy’s drug operation was “expansive, sophisticated, and targeted,” focusing on distributing large quantities of cocaine to Suffolk County’s East End. His arrest stemmed from a long-term investigation led by the East End Drug Task Force, which culminated in the seizure of over a kilogram of cocaine, a hidden compartment—or “trap“—inside his Mercedes-Benz used to conceal drugs, and nearly $140,000 in cash and gold coins.
Investigators also seized $395,000 in bank accounts tied to Khodorkovskiy, bringing the total value of assets forfeited as part of his plea agreement to over $570,000.
Court records reveal that from July 2023 to August 2024, Khodorkovskiy sold significant quantities of cocaine to undercover officers near his Brooklyn residence, fully aware the drugs were intended for redistribution in Suffolk County, particularly the Hamptons during the peak tourist season. Undercover officers infiltrated Khodorkovskiy’s network, arranging cocaine purchases and documenting his operations.
Khodorkovskiy was arrested on August 2, 2024. In addition to cocaine, investigators found MDMA hidden in his car and recovered cash and gold from his Brooklyn apartment during a search. The District Attorney’s office highlighted the dangers of such drug trafficking operations, warning that they fuel addiction, violence, and community harm.
This sentence sends a clear message: Suffolk County will not tolerate drug traffickers exploiting our communities,” said District Attorney Tierney. “We are committed to dismantling these operations and protecting our residents.”
Khodorkovskiy was represented by attorney Matthew Myers. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Robert Archer of the Narcotics Bureau. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, East Hampton Town Police, Suffolk County Police, New York State Police, the DEA, and the Office of Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York.
