NYSERDA said the Town of Brookhaven is working on one campaign, while the Town of Southampton, Village of Southampton, Town of East Hampton, Villages of Sag Harbor and East Hampton are taking part in programs on the South Fork.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a written statement said the state is working with regions to help customers “take advantage of even more cost-effective rates.”
“You create a group that goes out and recruits people for solar,” NYSERDA spokesman Alan Wechsler said. “They find a contractor and say, ‘We have 30 people interested in solar. What kind of discounts can you give us?’”
Community Solar NY provides marketing materials, technical assistance, $5,000 and advice on best practices for each community program. Via libn.com
